The access to the sheet has been restricted for nearly a month, according to the dates of the emails, and not a single person has come forward to notify Alice or myself.

People had the audacity to edit a content that isn’t there, creating edits to the layout, title, permissions, even adding their own personal emails to the list of verified editors, and much more.

There’s two things that annoy me re: this situation. I kid you not, I deleted nearly over two hundred of these. several hundred emails that one of these spreadsheet editors has restricted access to the entire sheet. Thankfully, majority of our spreadsheet users didn’t notice their own permissions, and have rightfully left the spreadsheet alone and untouched. Due to such, we’ve had to change all MSE associated account passwords, a huge pain for us all involved. This implying, that we’ve either had a security breach or there’s been a Google fault, the latter highly unlikely. Obviously, Alice and I are baffled over such a thing occurring, as we both clearly remember setting the link to comment only, and all our spreadsheet tutorials clearly show the sheet being at comment only.

We’ve recently discovered that the link shared on all our posts allowed all viewers to edit our entire spreadsheet.
